Shift Master

The Shift Master module is used to define and manage production shifts within the MES system.
It helps configure working hours, leave days, overnight shifts, and break timings for production operations.

Proper shift configuration ensures that production scheduling, manpower allocation, and machine operations run according to the defined shift timings. Alt text for the image


Creating a Shift

To create a shift:

  1. Navigate to Masters → Shift Master.
  2. Click the Add New button.
  3. The shift configuration form will open.
  4. Enter the required shift details.
  5. Add break timings if required.

Shift Details

The shift information is entered in the following table fields.

Shift NameName used to identify the shift in the system.
Shift CodeUnique code used to distinguish the shift.
Start TimeThe time at which the shift begins.
End TimeThe time at which the shift ends.
Leave DaysUsed to configure weekly off days for the shift.
OvernightEnable this option if the shift continues past midnight.

Adding Breaks

Shifts may include one or more break periods.

To add breaks:

  1. Click the Add Break button.
  2. Enter the break details in the break table.

Break Details

Break information is entered in the following table.

Break NameName of the break period.
Start TimeTime when the break begins.
End TimeTime when the break ends.
DurationAutomatically calculated based on start and end time.

Saving the Shift

After entering the shift and break details:

  1. Verify all the information.
  2. Click the Save button.

The shift configuration will be saved and can be used for production scheduling and workforce management.
