Stock Transfer Process

The Stock Transfer Process in MES (Manufacturing Execution System) is used exclusively for transferring finished goods from the production area to the warehouse.
This ensures that only completed, quality-approved products are moved into storage for dispatch or future distribution.

By maintaining a controlled transfer system, the MES guarantees that the inventory in the warehouse reflects only finalized goods, avoiding duplication or premature transfer of items still under production.

Overview of Stock Transfer for Finished Goods

The Stock Transfer module allows production teams to record and track the physical movement of items between two internal locations — typically from production to warehouse.

Each transfer is recorded with complete traceability details, ensuring accurate inventory management and audit compliance.

Steps to Perform a Stock Transfer

  3. Fill in the required fields:
    • Transfer From: Choose the production line or department where the goods are currently located.
    • Transfer To: Select the warehouse or storage unit.
    • Item Type: The system will automatically set this as Finished Goods.
    • Item Name: Choose the finished product from the list.
    • Quantity: Enter the total number of items being transferred.
    • Entry Date: Set the transfer date (automatically defaults to the current date).
    • Remarks: Add any relevant notes (optional).
  4. Once all information is filled in, click Save to confirm the transfer.

Stock Update Logic

Upon saving the stock transfer:

  • The production stock for that finished good will be reduced by the transferred quantity.
  • The warehouse stock for the same item will be increased accordingly.
  • This ensures real-time synchronization between production and warehouse inventories.
