Device Model Configuration

Configure Data Points​

The Configuration action allows users to manage the data points associated with a Device Model.

When the Configuration icon is selected, the Device Model Configuration page is displayed. This page allows users to define the data points that will be available for devices created using the selected Device Model.

Device Model Configuration​

The configuration page displays the selected Device Model name and provides access to the Datapoint configuration tab.

Adding Data Points​

Users can add data points to a Device Model using one of the following methods:

Import from Data Point Template​

Users can select existing Data Point Templates that have already been defined in the system.

This approach helps:

  • Reuse existing configurations.
  • Maintain consistency across device models.
  • Reduce configuration effort.

Create Data Point Directly​

Users can also create new data points directly within the Device Model Configuration screen without navigating to the Data Point Template module.

This option is useful when:

  • A new data point is required for a specific device model.
  • The data point is not available in existing templates.
  • Quick configuration is needed during device model setup.

Benefits​

Configuring data points at the Device Model level ensures that all devices associated with the model follow a standardized data structure, enabling consistent monitoring, reporting, and data processing throughout the IoT platform.
